My name is Maria. I like art. See what I did there? I love horror movies and apocalypse’s are often a feature so I thought `hey, that can be a thing.’ And so the wit continues.

I’m a full time film journalist for Australian newspaper The Gold Coast Bulletin, Australian correspondent for the world’s leading horror movie website BloodyDisgusting.com, blogger over at Movie Mazzupial on blogspot, film commentator on 92.5 Gold FM and 102.9 Hot Tomato and occasionally I breathe. Mariart Apocalypse is yet another finger in another pie, Sweeney Todd style.

I have long been pondering the possibility of setting up a site purely dedicated to my many art projects, sketches, cartoons, things that inspire me etc. So here it is. You will quickly discover most of this is amateur time. I rarely use digital drawing software because a) I haven’t had the patience to learn and b) I like the feel of a pencil in my hand. I occasionally get commissioned to do things for people, but basically this is just for me and mine. Possibly yours too.
